the Turkey to be a full-member? If yes, Why if no, Why not?

contact young people before giving decisions about their future and current
lives? How can this be made possible?

in Turkey to make the authority hear himself/herself? What is your (or somebody
you know) experience of being involved into politics?
Results:
A. What do you think about the prejudices of Turkish
people against the Europeans? Do you think, the Turkish have any prejudices
against Europe and European Union? If you think, yes what are those prejudices?
Is there a way to eliminate those prejudices?
Yes, they do. For example, we think the Italians eat
only pizza and they sleep all the time, the Germans drink beer all the time and
the girls in the east Europe loves money a lot.
To overcome this, we must join project to share and
learn our cultures. We must visit the countries we have prejudices and see how
they live.
B. What is the biggest barrier for the young people in
Turkey? What about in Europe? How do you think, it would be possible to
overcome this barrier?
The biggest problem of the young people is education
system. The system we have is only trying to teach us but it does not show us
how to live, how to improve our skills. So we want a system which will help us
improve our life skills.
C. Europe and Turkey. What do you think of European
Union and Turkey’s membership situation? Do you think, it is a necessity for
the Turkey to be a full-member? If yes, Why if no, Why not?
We must be a full-member because,
This will help us be better at human rights and
freedom,
We will not have visa problems,
Our life standards will increase,
We will have more rights in Europe,
We will have ore interactions with the people in Europe,
The prejudices against the Turkish may decrease.
But it is thought at some settings that The European
Union is a Christian Club, which will be impossible for Turkey to be a member
of.
D. Do you think, the Europeans have prejudices against
the Turkish people? If you think so, what the wrong things which are in fact
not true? How is it possible to eliminate those prejudices?
Yes, they do. They are often surprised when they
become our friends and they say we did not know the Turkish people were so
friendly like this.
L They
think, all the Turkish women wear scarves over their heads and they think all
Turkish have black skin, they are surprised when they see we also have white
skins. And they say the Turkish are barbarians.
Why they have prejudice:
Historical background (big wars) and today’s political
relations
Social rights,
Cultural Differences,
The differences in the Education System,
The differences in the opportunities
This leads to problems that
Misunderstanding,
No communication
Subjective views,
E. Have you ever been to Europe? If yes, where have you
been? When? Was it through a EU project? What are the things that an EU project
adds to young participants?
Hamid: yes, to Italy this year. We improve our foreign
language skills, learn other cultures, and make new friends.
We get rid of our prejudices. And learn many new things.
Aynur: Yes, to Belgium in March. I learned new cultures
and new people.
Furkan: Yes, to Germany, last year. My English
improved a great deal. And I learned other cultures.
F. Do you think, it is a necessity for the young
people to be involved in politics? Do you think, the politicians need to
contact young people before giving decisions about their future and current
lives? How can this be made possible?
Yes, it is a necessity. This way, we can improve our
critical thinking skills. For the politicians to make a welfare country and for
the welfare of its youth, they have to ask the young people their ideas.
In order to do this,
- They have
to learn about the needs of the young people,
- They must
give training about politics and political life,
- There must
be youth committees,
- It must be
fully legal for the young be involved in politics without conditions.
G. What are the systems or channels for the young people
in Turkey to make the authority hear himself/herself? What is your (or somebody
you know) experience of being involved into politics?
These are writing letters or complaints or through
some associations. Also the internet and media can be used. These projects are also
a channel for young people.
